I had no positive representation when I was small. can you imagine growing up as a muslim Pakistani girl in this world, where the only rep you could possibly get of your people is as a terrorist? Like it is hell for me to watch movies at times because I know that whenever you see a muslim and/or Pakistani person, they’re going to be depicted as a terrorist. When people hear muslim Pakistani, that’s what they think of. terrorist. 

and now? Now we’re getting a series about a muslim Pakistani teenager. An actual, muslim, Pakistani teenager who goes by the name of Kamala Khan and who is the first positive muslim Pakistani rep I have ever encountered in my life. I am getting the representation I so desperately needed when I was a small girl. My heart is warm and happy at the thought of young muslim and/or Pakistani girls seeing Kamala on the big screen and finally having positive representation and feeling empowered. I’m over the moon at this news and I can’t stop smiling, because Kamala is coming.
